A major street improvement project is underway along Santa Monica Boulevard in Central Hollywood.

The Santa Monica Blvd Multimodal Project — spanning from La Brea Avenue to the US-101 Freeway — began in Fall 2025 and is expected to continue through Fall 2028. The project aims to improve pedestrian safety, transit access, and overall street conditions along one of Central Hollywood’s most-traveled corridors.

The project was announced at CHNC’s January 2026 board meeting, where CD13 representative Lila Molina from Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez’s office provided updates to the board and community.

What to expect:

  • Multimodal improvements including bike, pedestrian, and transit enhancements
  • Construction activity along the La Brea to US-101 stretch through 2028
  • Periodic road closures and detours — residents are encouraged to plan ahead

To report street damage, broken signals, or other issues during the project, use the MyLA311 app or call 311.
