How the Board Works
Elected by You
Board members are elected by stakeholders — residents, business owners, employees, and organization members in Central Hollywood. Elections are held every two years.
Open Meetings
All board meetings are open to the public under the Brown Act. Residents can speak during public comment on any agenda item or non-agenda matter.
Volunteer Service
Board members serve without pay — it's pure civic commitment. They represent your interests before the City of Los Angeles and advocate for our community's needs.
4-Year Terms
Board members serve 4-year terms. Term limits ensure fresh perspectives and give more community members the opportunity to serve.
City Connection
CHNC is a certified Neighborhood Council under the City of LA's Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (EmpowerLA), giving our community an official voice at City Hall.
Committees
Board members chair committees that dive deep into issues like homelessness, planning, safety, and legislation. Community members can join these committees too.
